Eating out is going to give you 5% back during the month of February using the Discover Card.   You have to go to the site and sign up or actually call them to enroll and it is totally free.  I wish Discover would just auto enroll all the rewards during the year so we would not have to go to the site and sign up all the time.  So if you have the card and you eat out - go sign up and enjoy.

“It ain’t my fault the cashier messed up”

I am not a fan of Wal-Mart.  Sure they have good prices but you end up paying the full price waiting in line for 30 minutes to even check out.  Anyway, I went to a brand new store over the weekend while I was waiting for my wife to get her nails done around the corner.  To burn time I figured I would go check out this new Super Wack-Mart.  It was nice I must admit.  Clean white floors, a band playing grand opening music, and the greeter actually was happy to be there.  I was shocked and thought this has to be too good to be true.

I was walking up to the register and noticed a first ever for Wal-Mart.  There was enough cashiers that I didn’t have to wait in line. I bet if I went back in a month they would have the typical 30 minute wait to checkout.

I ended up buying some toothpaste and shaving cream.   The total came to $5.01 and I gave the girl a $20.  I wished I had the penny but oh well.  So the cashier ended up giving me $9.99 which was $5 short and she said she needed to get her boss to give me the refund. When the cashier went over to tell her boss it looked like it didn’t go well because her boss was shaking her head at her.  I was thinking that is a pretty bad boss to shake your head at a employee because of a very small mistake.  So I watched the boss take her sweet old time to come give me the rest of my money back and trust me she took her sweet old time.  She was walking slower than the people who have to run/jog/walk on the biggest loser.  I made a little comment to her and she went on to say “it ain’t my fault the cashier messed up”  this was the boss ripping on the employee. I was shocked the manager said that out loud.  Then she walked away.  I told the cashier as I was leaving “don’t put up with that crap because that boss was the worst”. The cashier started laughing. It must not be hard to be a manger at Wal-Mart.

At any rate I ended up going shopping again on Sunday and of course I had a great experience at Target, because they know how to treat customers and employees.

Do you think people are put in leadership roles that have no clue how to lead?

So many Americans are going to be getting a refund this year from the government.  Pretty cool huh?  If you are single it looks like you will be getting a check for $600 and if you are married like myself a check for $1200 will be in the mail.  You can get the full details about it on MSN Money.  I still need to figure out what I am going to do with all this money.

What are you going to spend your rebate on?

United States economy

Wow! The market is not doing so hot in general.  Stocks are down. Real Estate is still dumping, and the economy is not the best.  We all know that yesterday the Federal Reserve lowered rates by 3/4 of a point.  As I have seen in the past that after rates drop, my savings accounts rates usually go down and I hate that.  So yesterday when I saw rates got lowered again, I moved some of my savings to a CD.  It was a good move because today I saw they lowered my savings almost 3/4 of a point.   It might be a good idea to move some money over to CD’s especially if rates get lowered again in the near future.

Where should people be putting their money?

Political money

Recently I have seen on the TV tons of coverage for the upcoming elections this year.  I must say in the past when I was younger I was more excited to choose sides and really follow it.  This year it seems like all the candidates are all saying the same thing.  Of course we know the Republicans and Democrats say things opposite.  I wish for one day in politics that the true colors of the candidates would be shown.  I hate the fact they they dodge questions and beat around the bush- or in some cases on Bush!

Seeing who is running for the primary I noticed that there really is no front runner for the Republicans.  On the Democratic side I see Edwards, Clinton, and Obama.  They are fighting tooth and nail. I was thinking will this country ever give Obama a fair chance?  Will this country give Bill and Chelsea’s mama another run?  This is a weird year for the election because it could history in the making for those two.

I have seen so many ads this year on-line and on TV that I am getting really sick of them.  Why do so many people give money to those campaigns?  Do they just want to push there own agenda if there “superhero” get elected?  Waste of money in my book.  Spend some of this money on people who really do need help.

Should be good to see how this all turns out.

Who are you pulling for in the election and any thought on them raising all this money?
