I Think oil should not be a traded commodity. We should pay for what this country uses and not worry about what is happening in other countries or what the price is there.

Personally I think that the government should ease the bans on drilling of certain areas of the United States. I am not saying that they should try to anger all of the tree huggers in this country, but we are sitting on some of the largest oil fields in the world, and using those natural resources would do a lot more than drive the price of gas down - growth in our economy could be a big reason to open up the regulations. I guess the spotted owl is more important than making sure some people's kids have enough food to eat! That may be a little drastic, but come on!

I would have the government stay out of it. They already get plenty of money in taxing the industry. If they come up with a plan, it ends up costing us more money, kind of like the stimulus bill. They give us the money back and we end up spending it on high gas prices and not using our own oil in the United States.

I think "we the people" need to come up with a plan for alternative fuel. Like use some natural resources such as the Sun. Doesn't get more natural than that.

Check out this new feed from MotorTrend you can subscribe to your local gas prices by your zip code. This is being offered as a free service to help reduce the cost on the American people.
